Challenge Weeks #244-245 - Anything Goes

Hello, and welcome back to Word Art Wednesday for another FUN challenge.  Even though we've gone to a bi-weekly challenge schedule, this is one of those months where we have three challenges.  So for that reason, we have two sponsors again for this challenge; and then Simon Says Stamp will be back with us again for our third challenge in August.  We sure are glad you're here for this challenge because we have two AWESOME sponsors again which means two more chances for YOU to win.  I'd like to quickly mention that one of our DT Members, Carole Robb-Bisson, has been seriously ill.  For those of you who love to pray for others, I know that she would greatly appreciate your prayers for healing.  We miss her fellowship and presence, and wish her a speedy recovery.  Thanks to those of you who will pray for Carole.  We're also happy to pray for YOUR prayer requests if you let us know.  And with that said.....let's get started on our challenge.

The first thing I need to tell you about the word art file for this challenge is that it is NOT spelled incorrectly or written incorrectly.  It's is the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, and our preferred translation here at Word Art Wednesday.  That doesn't ever mean that you can't use different translations of the Bible for your own cards and projects.  We love God's Word, and it delights us to see it on your cards and art in any version.  It's also important to mention again that you are never required to use scripture when playing along.  That's not a requirement, even though several people have had that misconception.  We really just enjoy seeing ALL the different forms of art you create.  You're always welcome to read our Challenge Rules if you have any questions about "the rules" and such.  This beautiful verse (and beautiful piece of scriptural word art) would be such an awesome one to make into something you can frame, and using it as a wedding gift or a new home house-warming gift.  It's a great verse about the home, and as we all know; our houses are a very important part of who we are as people.  These two verses say, "Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall all the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches".  The words "an house" refer to an individual or family home; and one that is grounded in wisdom, strengthened by understanding (good judgement), and prospers by continuing knowledge (growing in God's Word and developing as a Christian or child of God).  These things will cause our chambers (the rooms of our homes - as well as all the needs in our lives) to be filled with all precious and pleasant riches (the desires of our heart).  It's fun to look at verses from God's Word and learn what message they have for us.  We hope you enjoy creating with this beautiful piece of God's Word in the form of word art (if you so choose).  Let God's Word be a blessing to you.

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!

Anything Goes Challenge Weeks #242-#243

Here we are once again on a beautiful Wednesday, and it's time for another FUN CHALLENGE at Word Art Wednesday.  We have two super fun sponsors, a very lucky winner, a beautiful piece of word art, a short devotional to encourage you, and lots of great inspiration to get you started.  We really look forward to seeing all the beautiful art you create, and we're SO grateful to have you share your talents with us.

What's really awesome about the Bible is that God gave His Word (literally HIS words) to be a comfort, an encouragement, and a reminder of His deep and unconditional love for us.  So each verse contains a specific message He wanted us to have.  This week, we are focusing on Mark 11:22 which says, "So Jesus answered and said to them, have faith in God".  I encourage you today to read Mark Chapter 11; especially the words of Jesus in verses 22-26.  God gives us some very powerful information that could COMPLETELY change our lives.  Jesus tells us how incredibly important it is to HAVE FAITH IN GOD.  He explains that most of what we don't have in life is simply because we doubt Him and His ability to do what we ask of Him.  When we ask God for something, it's paramount that we BELIEVE 100% that God CAN and WILL do it.  But we doubt.  The enemy (Satan) comes along and places doubts in our minds, and when our faith in God falters, we miss out on His blessings.  He won't give us our desires when we don't delight ourselves in Him, trust Him without ANY doubts, and forgive others who have sinned against us.  I really encourage you to read Mark 11:22-26 today and try to understand that God CAN and WILL give you what you desire when you HAVE FAITH that never waivers, when you FORGIVE others, and when you ask of God you BELIEVE that He is able.

Anything Goes Challenge Weeks #240-#241

Welcome to Word Art Wednesday!  We're so glad you're here.  If you're a regular with us, we praise God for you and appreciate you SO much.  And if you're new to this challenge blog, WELCOME!  It's our hope that you will become a regular and have a great week creating and sharing your art, getting to know us and others in the crafting community, and coming to the realization that GOD LOVES YOU!

Our word art for this challenge was taken from the scripture Psalm 8:3-4 that says, "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man that thou art mindful of him?  and the son of man, that thou visiteth him"  Let's take a closer look at each word, and think about what God is trying to teach us in these two verses.  First, the psalmist (David) says, "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers"; and this tells us that they are God's heavens, and David knew this because he was aware that God created all things.  David was pondering, looking at, and considering all of God's amazing handiwork.  David pondered the moon and the stars, and again reminded us that God ordained these things (meaning He spoke them into existence) and gave them to mankind as a gift to enjoy and to take care of for Him.  When he said, "the work of thy fingers" he was again expressing how AMAZING God is; that He could "snap His fingers", make a plan, and tell them (the moon, stars, heavens, etc.) to appear because HE IS THAT AMAZING AND POWERFUL.  He is the ONLY ONE who could create something out of nothing, and no other process for creation is possible.  David was in awe of the wondrous works of our Heavenly Father Creator.  Considering all this, David went on to say "what is man that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man, that thou visiteth (cares about) him".  I would wonder the same thing (if I didn't already know the answer).  What is mankind that the Lord of all the earth would take thought of him?  And care for him?  And become human flesh and die for him?  The answer to this question is that we, also, ARE HIS CREATION.  We are His children, and He loves us.  He loves us SO much,in fact, that He became flesh, came to earth in human form, resisted sin (being a spotless perfect sacrifice), and died that we might be able to find our way to spend eternity with Him.  But it's not automatic.  It's a choice that every human being must make for themselves.  The Lord of all the earth cares for YOU and died FOR YOU.  What will you do with this wonderful information?

Challenge Weeks #238-#239 - Anything Goes

Welcome back, crafty friends!  We're SO happy to have you with us for another great challenge, and we have so many fun things for you all again this time.  First, we have one SUPER lucky winner, and we have TWO great sponsors.  One sponsor for this challenge is CropStop; and for those of you who aren't familiar with CropStop, you really need to check out this AWESOME STORE!  They carry pretty much everything you can imagine - all your favorite brands.  They also have a FUN CHALLENGE that runs monthly and is always Anything Goes.  You are all welcome to swing by and link up in that challenge as well for more chances of winning some of their amazing products.  And then....our digital sponsor is Imagine That, and you will love their sweet images.  It's just a great week to play along with us, and we're SO glad you are here for all the fun.

Our word art for this challenge is from the Gospel of John, chapter 14 and verse 27.  As Jesus prepared to depart, He left these words with His disciples.  "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled.  Neither let it be afraid."   It was customary in these times that when preparing to depart, people would say "Shalom, Shalom" which meant "peace, peace".  However, when Jesus Christ (God in human flesh) spoke these words of peace, He was referring to an actual possession He was leaving with them.  The peace He was offering them was a physical and lasting gift which was very different from what the world had (or has) to offer.  The peace God offers is the gift of Himself in the form of the Holy Spirit Comforter.  Even though He was preparing to leave the world with His physical (earthly) body, He was leaving them (and all of us) with a "peace that passes all understanding".....a comfort and a true and lasting peace.  The gift of peace He left with all of us is very different from the world's offerings of "peace".  By leaving us with this beautiful gift of peace/the presence of His Holy Spirit, the world was being offered a real and lasting peace that would leave no room for troubles or fears.  He knew that mankind (including His disciples) would face trials; but He also knew that the peace He left behind for us (the presence of God in the form of the Holy Spirit) was sufficient to allow for true and lasting peace in our lives.  He wants us to experience that peace, and He doesn't want our hearts to be troubled or overwhelmed.  When we face those difficult times during our journey here on earth, He wants us to lean on Him and allow His presence (through the Holy Spirit that abides in us) to be of complete comfort that will allow us to rest in Him.  Remember, we are never truly alone when we have Jesus Christ in our hearts.  What a blessing!  That's enough to chase away any fears or troubles.  NO other "religion" can offer this because ONLY GOD (the ONE true God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit Comforter) is able to offer this beautiful and lasting peace.   Know Jesus and Know Peace.  No Jesus, and NO Peace!
